Distance Education Support Unit
The Distance Education Support Unit (DESU) provides quality programmes for students with an intellectual disability, who are unable to attend school in a face-to-face setting.
To this end, Signified was briefed to develop a website that was highly usable, accessible and sensitive to the diverse range of abilities of its audience - from current students and parents - to potential future students and staff members.
The site provides access to photo galleries, staff and student profiles and a dynamic and interactive student location map, as well as a parents only forum and student blog. Future development plans for the site involve an online classroom and podcasting of lessons.
